FINS
When choosing your fins, keep in mind that an efficient fin allows you to use less
oxygen and energy, hence when diving will allow you much more time underwater. The meanest, blackest and
most rigid fins available will not automatically provide you the performance you
require. Choose fins according to your leg power and kicking ability. Usually,
the stronger the leg, the longer and more stiff your fins should be. However
fins with rigid sides and a flexible inside will provide more thrust with less
effort.
Open heel fins are
ideal for allround diving as they provide stability and maximum propulsion with easy to adjust
straps and quick disconnect release, both in and out of the water. They can be worn
in any climate as boots are worn with them and they help to protect you from cold temperatures. Boots
also provide cushioning, prevent blisters and protect your feet when walking on hot decks or rocky coral coast lines.
